Our History
We have experienced all types of challenges. During the years of ministry we have had to rise above many barriers. Spiritually we have fought and in the natural we have had to endure. To God be the Glory He has provided strength in times of weakness. Following are just a few obstacles that we’ve had to overcome since 1992.
- Conducting services in a warehouse with no bathrooms
- City rats interrupting our services
- Bats flying over our heads
- Sound equipment stolen several times on the morning of Sunday services
- Services cut short because arsons set our buildings on fire
- No heat for 2 long cold years
- No parking for 22 years
- Our lives threatened
- Sharing buildings with non-believers
1 Cor. 13:1-8
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
We are convinced more than ever that the Lord has a purpose for Metro Life Church to do extraordinary things. It has been our relentless love for our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and our love for the people of this great city that has fueled our passion in making a difference. We will not quit, we will not compromise, we will not continue to sit idle and watch the devil destroy this city one life at a time. We will pray, we will love, we will serve, we will provide hope, we will stand against evil, we will be part of the solution, we will do whatever it takes.
Thursday March 27th 2014 we closed on the sale of our new location 4801 Oakman Blvd., Detroit MI. The Lord has provided a wonderful facility. We are committed to maximizing our new property for the Glory of God. We welcome you to join us on the journey?
